Religious Education

As a school in the Catholic Tradition, St Pius X offers students a Religious Education curriculum that seeks to increase religious knowledge and help students explore their relationship with God by way of prayer and sacrament.

We strive to foster a sense of social justice in our students and encourage them to look for the sacred in their own lives. A pivotal role for our Religious Education curriculum is the creation of dialogue between the Catholic worldview and other faiths and philosophies.

As a school within the Ballarat diocese, our Religious Education teaching and learning is drawn from the Awakenings Curriculum and covers the following strands:

• Scripture, Israel and Jesus
• Church Tradition Prayer, Liturgy and Sacraments
• Christian Ethics: Personal and Social
• God, Religion and Society
